Starting June 28th of 2025 we will once again be advertising on Reddit.  We are striving to make our existence known and to build our membership so we can eventually get all of our programs going and so we can start building our network of chapters across North America.  If you arrived here via this ad, Welcome!  We are so glad you have an interest in us and in what we are trying to accomplish.

We sincerely hope each person reading this is enjoying their stitching time and that they feel a need to participate in what we are creating here at the NACSA.  It is only through membership and feedback that we will grow and thrive.  Please consider joining as a founding member.  We would love to add you to our group of fans!

The folllowing article discusses the struggle for pattern makers to survive in the new marketplace.  I, for one, hope we still will have access to high quality patterns and kits.  They are a vibrant and necessary part of our art form.

    Hi:

I'm informing all members that we now have a NACSA subreddit active as well as a Facebook page.  If you frequent these sites, please join our flock there.  The subreddit is r/NACSA and our facebook is simply NACSA.

We hope you'll consider joining us at these sites.

Happy and knot-free stitching to everyone!

    Hello:

Some reading this might wonder what we have in mind for this organization and its future?  This post is to explain future plans.

We are growing and we have setting up chapters for the NACSA high on our list.  We dearly wish for members to take an interest in setting up a way to socialize and learn in their own neighborhood.  We are working on this at the national headquarters - hoping a St. Petersburg, FL chapter can be a reality.  The best way to do this is to host stitch and talk sessions - or as some know them: Stitch and Bitch sessions.  Use the term you are most comfortable with.  You can find rooms to do this in at local libraries or even in an convenient Starbucks.  By setting a time for others to consider meeting to stitch some, you'll hopefully start getting into the cross stitch network in your neighborhood. Who knows? You might be the next President of the chapter!

Further into the future we plan on trying to have an on-line gallery for our members. This gallery will be perpetual in nature and it will be there so you can know your work will live on even after you are done stitching.  We hope to aggregate all the great work our members' do over time. It tells a story about each of us and it allows us to be proud of getting that last stitch into a beloved pattern. Eventually, this gallery will also be a part of our international museum of Cross Stitch.

This gets us to the next plan - the museum.  Our plans will take years to come to fruition, but we are steadfast in our mission to conserve as much as is sensible for us to preserve.  Additionally, we would like to have an area in the museum that highlights cross stitch across the ages.  This is a big reach, but I'm sure with steadfast members, we eventually will find a way to have this happen.

Lastly, we want to continue to offer classes in cross stitch and in the extra special stitches we are often called to use to finish off our works.  If you have an interest in teaching, please let us know at questions4nacsa@outlook.com.

    Hi:

This is just to update the organization on our recent stretch of new members.  We are now sitting at 6 new Founding Members in the last few months!  In addition our Stitch Together Beginner's Class has two new enrollees!  We are very thankful for the faith being put in us and we are hopeful, this is just the beginning of our growth period.  We also thank our new members because our mailing of their membership packet was delayed (due to a delay in receiving our embosser).  I'm happy to report our membership packets went into the mail today.  Happiest stitching to all of our new and existing members!

    Hello:

April's edition has been created and is small, but is a good first stab at a newsletter.  For now we will be sending this edition with the welcome packets we will be creating.  If you have recently joined, be sure to look for the edition in your packet and please provide feedback on what other articles you would like to see in the newsletter.

Incidentally, if you are interested in creating a new chapter near to you, please contact our Executive Director, Jeff Reine.  His direct email for now is wobberjankle@outlook.com.

The NACSA has taken another step toward becoming a hub for cross stitch information and conservation!  The NACSA web site (www.noamcsa.org) is now live.  So far, we have had a hiccup in getting our payments processor on board, so payments and donations are not possible right now.  This is scheduled to be overcome by next week, assuming they accept the verification letter we have provided.

The board of the NACSA looks forward to serving our entire membership as soon as we can!
